Are you excited to embark on an unforgettable journey through Italy? This adventure is perfect for best friends traveling together or partners that want a fun getaway trip, so pack your bags and prepare for a fantastic experience you will cherish for years to come!

Day 1: Explore Florence

Even if you get in late and are jet-lagged, I recommend a quick walk around town to catch the sights uninterrupted by tourists. We arrived at Amerigo Vespucci, the Florence airport (FLR), and took the tram into town. Once there, we chose to stay at the cozy Amabilia Bed & Breakfast within walking distance of the Firenze Santa Maria Novella train station. We took a leisurely stroll through the city at night, admiring the stunning architecture of the Duomo, the David, and the fountain of Neptune. We headed to Osteria del Gatto e la Volpe for dinner and enjoyed a delicious burrata aperitif, gnocchi, and a homemade potato tortelli with romano pecorino cheese and fresh truffle. After dinner, we walked along the Arno River and indulged in gelato before retiring to our hotel.

Day 2: Discover the Best of Florence

We started our day by exploring the famous leather stalls at the Market Centrale, where we also found a wide range of fresh and tasty food! The favorite sandwich shop called All' Antico Vinaio, always has a long line, so we opted for the second best place, with a minimal wait that is absolutely mouthwatering. Sandwichic offered thinly cut meat and delectable spreads on fresh focaccia, which was a perfect mid-day on-the-go lunch. Next, we headed to Santa Croce to see the leather school, which offered high-end leather products such as belts, purses, notebooks, and bags that could be embedded with 24k gold letters. We purchased our higher-end gifts at this location, knowing the quality was much better. After a quick nap, we walked to Piazza Michelangelo and enjoyed the stunning views. It was a trek to get up the hill, so we gave ourselves enough time to catch the sunset and wore comfy shoes. We ended our day with Gusta Pizza, where we enjoyed a delicious meal of calzones, a bottle of wine, and a burrata pizza that was well worth the 45-minute wait. If you don’t want to wait, they have takeout.

Day 3: More of Florence

We still had a few more things to cross off the list for our last day. We started our day on the other side of the river with a delicious spread of sweet, savory pastries and fresh orange juice at Ditta Artigianale Riva d'Arno. Then, we strolled through the buboli gardens of Piazza de’ Pitti and enjoyed a refreshing glass of wine at Signorvino while admiring the Ponte Vecchio. For lunch, we checked out La Menagerie, an adorable cafe with a fantastic menu that ranged from brunch to happy hour. We visited the Uffizi Gallery but gave ourselves ample time to take it all in and ate a big meal before we went because the cafe was not until the end. Fi-Tip: Buy your tickets in advance to get your chosen time slot through the Uffizi Gallery link.

Day 4: Travel Day to Amalfi Coast

This was our travel day to the Amalfi coast. We chose Positano for its scenic seaside paradise, which was said to be young adult friendly. We took a four-hour train ride to Positano. We arrived in Naples, where a driver from our hotel was at the train station to pick us up and bring us through Pompeii, past Mount Vesuvius, via a swirvy road through Sorrento to Positano. We settled at our hotel, Casa Guadagno, cleaned up and headed down about 200 stairs to the city center. Positano is known for its ceramics, so we stopped in Always Positano, a store with the best selection of hand-painted pieces, where they even shipped home the items for us. *Fi-Tip* If you aren’t a big walker or have difficulty walking up many flights of stairs, find a hotel near Positano Beach. This will save you time and energy. But if you are willing to hike it back to the hotel every night, the views from higher up on the hill are magnificent!

Day 5: Positano

The Amalfi coast is known for its stunning views, so we spent the day finding the best lookout points of the blue Mediterranean. We got our round-trip bus tickets at the store next to Always Positano. We hopped on the bus headed to Nocelle and hiked the path of the gods, which offered breathtaking views of the cliffs and water. There was lots of signage and tourists on the trail, so it felt safe. It was an incredible exercise-driven way to experience the port city of Positano from above. It didn’t hurt that a guy at the bus stop served limoncello mimosas at the end. We then reserved a cooking class at Hotel Buca di Bacco and learned how to make eggplant parmesan, gnocchi with pesto, pizza, and a chocolate cake while having unlimited prosecco, white and red wine. It was my favorite activity this trip offered! We finished the night at Music on the Rocks, the notorious club in a cave.

Day 6: Capri

The next day we headed to Capri, known for its exclusive villas, ginormous lemons, and grottos. Due to uncertainty in the tourist season, we bought our ferry tickets well in advance. Once we arrived, we walked from Capri Port to central Capri, a 20-minute uphill walk. There is an option to ride a funicular. This part of the city had cafes and shops and was a classic tourist strand but a must-see stroll. We got a taxi for €20 to the chairlift in Anacapri. We took the Mount Solaro Chairlift to the highest peak in Capri, which had the most incredible views imaginable. Also, a café at the top offered snacks, water, lunch, and bathrooms. Once back down the chairlift, we wandered around Anacapri. We walked down Street Giuseppe Orlandi and enjoyed bruschetta and pasta with meatballs at Ristorante Il Solitario before returning to central Capri for refreshing lemonade and our ferry back.

Day 7: Salerno

We ended our week-long adventure by taking a 50-minute ferry to Salerno and walking along the promenade. We grabbed fresh seafood at Madegra before walking to the train station and returning to Florence. We stayed at Hotel Ignore Al Duomo in Florence and enjoyed roaming the city one last time. We took in the breathtaking views, indulged in local cuisine, and made memories that would last a lifetime.
